Now that our new door is installed, I wanted to get back to you and thank you for the excellent service you have provided to us.

It doesn’t seem possible that it was only last Sunday that I backed into the old door, knocking the rollers of the bottom panel off the guide rails and jamming it in the top of the frame. I called you very early on Monday morning, and as you promised, your technician was at our place that same afternoon. He looked at the damage, and said that attempting to find a replacement panel might be difficult, given the age and make of the door. He suggested that the best option might be to replace it with a completely new door. He said that the conventional approach would be to custom order one of the desired model and colour, and that given that they come from the USA, it would take about three weeks. I said that I didn’t care what colour the new door would be, and that my priority was to get a new door in place asap. I really didn’t like the garage door being stuck open, with a high school across the street and a couple of high end bicycles and my BMW in full view.

You called me Monday afternoon, and said that you had a number of 7 x 8 foot doors in stock, and that you would that evening send me an e-mail giving us an array of choices which could be installed quickly. You did send me descriptions and prices for about 8 doors on Monday evening. We chose one – which happened to be “sandstone” in colour, and I phoned you that same evening with our choice, and told you that we were ready to go ahead. You responded that you could install it Tuesday afternoon. I said that was fine.

At about 2 pm on Tuesday, Liam arrived and set to work. He was done in a couple of hours, which you had predicted. He was pleasant and businesslike, and obviously extremely well trained and experienced. He removed the old door and installed the new one with no problems or issues. Once I installed new batteries in the various remote controls, they all work fine. And the door works like a dream – quiet and smooth. Both my wife and I prefer the sandstone colour of the new door to the white that the old one had been.

So in summary, I think that you guys have hit this one out of the park.

We went from having a damaged, inoperable garage door on Monday morning to a brand new, very attractive new door in less than 18 hours! That is amazing. You and your staff responded to our little crisis with speed and professionalism, and my wife and I thank you very much for how well we have been served by you and your company.

We are absolutely pleased with the final results of the new garage door. Mike is one of the best installers I’ve seen (on any work), and I “R” an engineer, so I’m picky. He was professional, fast, efficient, but most important, top quality. I can’t say enough about the quality. The subtle things in the cladding accuracy, corners, caulking (stuff most people won’t think about) were perfect. The garage door itself looks great, even all the neighbours are asking about it! Very knowledgeable and insightful. I had done some research on what I wanted and Corey walked me through all the pro’s and cons of what I had selected to help me make an educated choice. Their installation team was there when they said they would be, they were quick, clean, and done without any surprises. The next day I noticed that one of the panels had a small ding in a corner that was only noticeable when the light hit the door at a certain angle. I contacted Corey, and without any hesitation he said No Problem, we’ll order a new panel and give you a call when its in and go change it out. I got a call last week, they scheduled a day and time, Paul showed up at that scheduled time and changed out the panel without any issues or comments. I wish there were more companies like Ottawa Garage Door Systems out there. I recommend them to anyone looking to get QUALITY garage doors installed by PROFESSIONAL people

Just wanted you to know we are very pleased with the door. Paul is a good worker and very pleasant. When finished he cleaned up and left it cleaner than when he arrived and he put my snow blower back into the garage, which he did not have to do. Paul is a great asset and representative for your company.

I would not hesitate recommending your company to friends and neighbours.

The only complaint my wife has is that it is too quiet and I will be able to sneak in at night so she will have to put a bell on the inner door. (Ha Ha)

Yesterday Nov 14^th in panic mode around 3 pm ( 30 year old single wooden door on double car garage) came off track. The cable had worn thin. Car was in the garage and I had a major appointment scheduled for today at 7:30am. I looked up the Kanata phone directory and found listed OGDS, totally unknown to me. The gentleman taking the call mentioned someone would come but couldn’t specify exact time. Around 7 pm Paul arrived, assessed the situation and advised the door would be operational within half an hour. He was very polite, competent and performed further adjustments to the system.

Should I require further related assistance OGDS is on my speed dial. Paul is certainly an asset to your company.

I highly recommend Corey. He is hands on, honest, won’t sell you what you don’t need or want. We appreciate the time Corey spent with us to work through what we needed and with the “big” size samples, it was easy to narrow down the colour. He even told us, politely, when our choice of windows in the door were “out of date”. LOL – thanks. John loves the light the window provide inside the garage.

The ordering was painless – nothing down, until the installation was complete… and also fast (once we decided the order was placed the following Monday, it arrived to Corey the following Wednesday and installation was complete at our home the following week. All the “stuff” of the old door and opener was all taken away at the same time.

Corey also recommended to ‘clad’ the surrounding wood of the opening by a fellow installer. This was completed, we love the look. Thanks John.

We went with the belt-driven (very quiet) one piece garage door opener. The installation included the door keypad, an inside button and two car remotes.

The price point was well under the competition quotes we had and in my humble opinion the quality was superior.

I approached Ottawa Garage Door Systems (OGDS) on the advice of a close friend who had purchased from them last year. They were highly recommended; and they lived up to that reputation.
